NBA/WNBA plan show to search the world for the next pro basketball player.
The NBA is creating a show that “will gather the best aspiring male and female basketball amateurs from around the globe to vie for a tryout with a team from each pro league,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. Called Who Wants to Be an NBA/WNBA Player?, finalists will compete in games like HORSE and other games while being judged “by a panel of experts including a player, a talent scout and an NBA coach.” No network has signed on yet, but the NBA hopes to air the show sometime in the middle of this year.
