CBS plans BBC show Sack Race, which follows real employees trying to get fired.
CBS will create a US version of Sack Race, which, unlike its title suggest, does not involve people racing to a finish line with their legs in potato sacks. Instead, it’s a show “in which real-life employees compete to get the sack”—e.g., fired. That should be hit, especially if unemployment declines or if a bunch of people are suddenly employed in positions they don’t really care about. Meanwhile, “BBC Worldwide is warming up three new game and reality formats for its US network clients,” C21 reports. They are Traitors, “a studio gameshow featuring seven goodies and two baddies”; Public Opinion, “a panel gameshow in which celebrities vote each other off, based on the public’s erroneous images of them”; and Interrogators, where players are “given knowledge of where a stash of cash is hidden and having to endure intensive cross-examination as to its whereabouts.”
