A PBS affiliate in Chicago, WTTW/Channel 11, is producing Comedy Tonight, a “show will follow a group of young comedy actor-wannabes as they compete for the chance to form an improv troupe, do a live show on television and tour PBS stations across the country,” according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The 11-episode series is expected to debut in June on PBS stations across the country. NBC is also planning a comedian-focused show for next summer, Funniest Person in America.
