Reality shows with Ewan McGregor, Ludacris, Tommy Lee, Pamela Anderson all debut Sunday

On Sunday night, three new celebrity-focused series will debut, but only one appears to be the typical “celebreality” crap and nonsense that we’ve come to expect when celebrities invade unscripted television. Ewan McGregor, Ludacris, Tommy Lee, and Pamela Anderson will be featured on the three series.

Ewan McGregor comes to the Fox Reality Channel with his documentary reality series Long Way Down that first aired, in a shorter form, on the BBC last year. The six-episode series debuts at 9 p.m. ET, and follows Ewan and his friend Charley Boorman as they travel 20,000 miles from Scotland to South Africa on motorcycles. Besides the TV show, their journey also resulted in a book, Long Way Down: An Epic Journey by Motorcycle from Scotland to South Africa.

It’s a sequel to the 2004 series Long Way Round, which chronicled their trip from London to New York and will be repeated on Fox Reality Saturday starting at 2 p.m. ET. (It’s also on DVD, and had a companion book, Long Way Round: Chasing Shadows Across the World.

It’s kind of tragic that I have to point out when series are actually real, but this is one of those, and we need more like it. Just check out the preview:

At 10 p.m. ET, Discovery’s new Planet Green network will air Battleground Earth: Ludacris vs. Tommy Lee, a competition that involves the two musicians competing to save the planet. (The show also airs Thursdays at 8 on TLC.) Over 10 episodes, they will “battle to get the word out about the state of the environment” that “culminates in a green carpet benefit concert at LA’s legendary Greek Theatre,” according to the network. Here’s a preview:

At the same time (10) on E!, Pam: Girl on the Loose debuts. It’s being called a “docu-series” and follows Pamela Anderson’s life and the network promises “a peek inside her life like you’ve never seen before,” but she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show last week that it’s just a “damn reality show.” Here’s a 30-second something that doesn’t really qualify as a preview:
