Great Food Truck Race’s second season playing out, and being spoiled, online
One of the reality TV surprises last summer was Food Network’s competition The Great Food Truck Race, which was a fun, fresh take on the road trip competition. The second season is currently being filmed, and because of the nature of food trucks and the necessity for the trucks to promote themselves, it’s playing out—and being spoiled—on Twitter.
Food Network announced the eight competing food trucks recently, but haven’t released any other details. But trying to keep the cities, challenges, and trucks still in the race secret is a losing battle.
The Orange County Register has a detailed report that covers how the show has unfolded online, from host Tyler Florence’s revealing tweets to food bloggers’ coverage to a Good Morning America segment.
Based on tweets tagged #TheGreatFoodTruckRace, which contain spoilers about which trucks are still in the race, the trucks are leaving Atlanta and heading to Miami, apparently South Beach, for the finale competition this weekend.
