Animal Planet will broadcast the acclaimed documentary The Cove this summer. Louis Psihoyos’ film debuted last year and followed former Flipper trainer Ric O’Barry’s efforts to uncover dolphin slaughter in Taiji, Japan.

The film is one of the 15 in contention for the best documentary Oscar, and may have impacted dolphin slaughter in Japan. It was also parodied in a South Park episode.
