ArchivesNBC’s Fear Factor returns tonight, debuting its 126th episode in its new time slot, on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. The show also has a new stunt team.
Many of the new episodes will be themed; tonight’s episode, “Heist Fear Factor,” finds the contestants competing in stunts and winning keys which may or may not unlock “a submerged armored car with one million dollars inside,” according to NBC. One upcoming show will be filmed at the Bates Motel set at Universal and be Psycho-themed.
Later this season, reality TV couples will face off over multiple episodes. And some of this season’s 22 episodes will include a home invasion by host Joe Rogan, who will challenge viewers to complete a stunt in their own house, likely ones involving consuming the genitals of various animals.
Actually, surprisingly enough, USA TODAY notes that this season is “not grosser.” While executive producer Matt Kunitz says that they’re not “toning down” the show, “What I want to say is you won’t just see someone eating an animal part. You’ll see even more outrageous, gigantic stunts.”
