Elle Macpherson out as host of Fashion Star; H&M may be gone, too
NBC’s Fashion Star has been renewed for a second season, but Elle Macpherson will not return as its host, and one of the show’s sponsors/judges may not, either.
“The show is in great hands, and although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very involved [and] will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season,” Elle told Page Six, which first reported her departure.
Page Six also says that “the format of the series, which was just renewed for a second season, could be changing, and producers are considering not having a dedicated host at all”; in addition, it claims H&M, one of the show’s three major sponsors, will also not return.
However, at the opening of a Houston H&M yesterday, CultureMap reported that buyer Nicole Christie “confirms a second season is a possibility, and if approached, seems to be interested to represent H&M again.” That’s a bit weird because a second season is a sure thing, though perhaps she or the writer meant that H&M’s return is possible.
