Ty Pennington’s new magazine has “Tytinis” recipes, wine rack instructions
On May 15, 650,000 copies of Ty Pennington at Home, a new magazine, will go on sale. But Mediaweek calls Hachette Filipacchi Media’s announcement of the publication a case of “bad timing” and says it is “awkward for Hachette and Pennington.”
That’s because Ty was arrested and later apologized for driving under the influence last weekend, and some of the magazine’s content is alcohol-themed.
Specifically, “[a] Thai-themed menu includes a recipe for ‘Tytinis’ and encourages readers to ‘Thai one on.’ A DIY column shows readers how to build their own wine rack,” according to Mediaweek.
The magazine is a special issue, but “Hachette hopes to publish the magazine quarterly next year.”
