Extreme Makeover: Home Edition spins off How’d They Do That series tonight.
As an hour of crying in front of your TV over home improvement projects is not enough, ABC tonight spins a new series off of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The new show, How’d They Do That, promises that “producers … literally open every door to show how Ty Pennington and his team of designers, workers and contractors are able to change the lives of deserving families as they rebuild the entire interior and exterior of a run-down house in just seven days.” Each Monday night episode will focus on the house created the evening before during the series’ regular broadcast; tonight’s ep features the Dore Family and the reconstruction of their burned-down house. Based upon the specific things ABC’s web site says we’ll see tonight—“The adrenalin rush and the different emotions the EMHE team experiences as they work to meet seemingly impossible deadlines.”—the series sounds more like an extension of the Sunday night episodes rather than a completely behind-the-scenes look.
