Dog the Bounty Hunter will return as A&E gives him a “second chance”

Following his racist tirade and weak apologies, Duane “Dog” Chapman will return to A&E. In a statement, A&E said that since the show was pulled off the air in November,

Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman has taken and continues to take the appropriate steps in reaching out to several African American organizations in an effort to make amends for his private comments to his son which were released publicly. Since the premise of ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ is about second chances — we have decided to give him one.”

A&E “[has] decided to start production again of ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ but no airdate has yet been scheduled,” Reuters reports.

Correction: An earlier version of this post referenced a year-old press release and referred to the series’ August 2007 return. I regret the error.
