Discovery’s reality shows draw the most men
A trio of Discovery Channel reality shows—Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, and Storm Chasers—draw more people with penises and testicles than any other nonfiction series on cable in prime-time. That’s impressive and a lot of caveats.
Mike Rowe’s always awesome exploration of other people’s jobs returned for a new season Tuesday, and that episode “was the #1 non-fiction cable program (excluding news) among [men ages 25 to 54] and the #1 non-fiction cable program among [men ages 18 to 49 (excluding sports) in primetime,” according to the network. The series moves to Sunday this weekend.
Last night, Mythbusters was “the #1 primetime (8P-11P) non-fiction cable program among men 25-54/18-49,” Discovery said in a press release. And Storm Chasers “was the #2 primetime non-fiction cable program (excluding sports/news) among men 25-54/18-49,” but it placed second only to Mythbusters.
