American Loggers cast member David “Davey” McLaughlin died
American Loggers cast member David “Davey” McLaughlin died Friday at age 45, apparently of complications due to diabetes. The results of an autopsy will be released today.
His boss, Rudy Pelletier, told the Bangor Daily News, “He could not control his diabetes. He was having problems. We had to release him [from work] from time to time so that he could get his health on track. It used to really concern me when we were out in the woods working.”
The Discovery Channel show follows the Pelletier family, which runs a logging business in Maine. Pelletier also said, “He liked it whenever we had to go on appearances and meet people. He was actually the star of the show. Everywhere we went, people wanted to know how he was doing.”
McLaughlin’s sister, Charity Rudge, said that once at a McDonalds, a boy “kept tapping his father and saying ‘Dad, Dad, there’s Davey!’ So Davey had breakfast with them. He just thought it was great.”
