HGTV casting for Design Star 3, renews David Bromstad’s Color Splash for three seasons
HGTV is doing extremely well with Design Star, its engaging competition that gives its winner their own series on the network. The first season’s winner, David Bromstad, just had his show Color Splash renewed for three more seasons, while the network is casting for a third season of the reality competition even as the second is still airing.
HGTV “has ordered three more seasons — or 39 additional episodes — of” David’s series, according to The Hollywood Reporter, while Design Star 3 “is set to debut in the third quarter.” An HGTV spokesperson tells reality blurred that it’s the third quarter of 2008, and production will take place February 26 to April 30 of next year.
Applications are due Oct. 31; the network wants people who have “Design Expertise,” “Personality That Pops,” and “Passion for Your Work.”
