Tom DeLay dances with stress fractures; says, “I’m insane or stupid”

Despite stress fractures in both feet, Tom DeLay danced the samba and shook his ass while wearing a shirt emblazoned with a glittery Republican elephant during Dancing with the Stars 9. He got a 6, 4, and 5 from the judges (the 4 was from crankypants Len Goodman, who’d apparently misplaced his 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 paddles all night).

“I’m insane or stupid…I can’t figure out which,” he told Tom Bergeron before dancing after we heard him say in the clip package, “The producers and my doctor have told me to withdraw from the competition, but I want to dance no matter what.”

“Tom is not giving up. I have a lot of respect for him,” Cheryl Burke said in one of those obnoxiously scripted interview segments that the stars nor the pro dancers can ever pull off with any degree of believability.

Before their dance, DeLay said, “What’s a little pain when you can party?” I guess that depends upon the strength of the stuff you’re partying with.
