ArchivesEven as ratings continue to fall for American Idol 7, its ABC competition, Dancing with the Stars 6, is experiencing ratings increases.
While Fox’s series still wins, it “continued its downward trend, falling another 9% from last week,” according to The Hollywood Reporter, which notes that “ratings generally start to climb in May as the season finale approaches,” but not this year. Overall, 21.2 million watched Jason Castro silently beg viewers to send him home. Besides being down from last week, Variety notes it’s “down more than 10% vs. the same night a year ago.”
However, Dancing with the Stars 6’s results show, which was also its 100th episode celebration, “had its best delivery so far this year,” the paper reports. Mario’s elimination was watched by 17.7 million viewers (although Variety says it was 18.5 million). The clip show that aired at 8 was watched by 10.5 million people.
