ArchivesMarie Osmond will not leave Dancing with the Stars 5 following the death of her father yesterday.
She “will continue to compete on the top-rated dance competition, ABC publicist Aime Wolfe said Wednesday,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. Reports said she might not return. Marie “skipped Tuesday’s live broadcast of ‘Dancing’ to be in Utah with her family,” the paper says. As she “will also appear with family members … on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show Friday,” she’ll presumably return to the ABC series next Monday.
A nearly identical sequence of events took place earlier this season, when Jane Seymour’s mother died and she missed a Tuesday results show, but then returned the following week.
