Finale of Dancing with the Stars 3 was the most-watched show this season

Dancing with the Stars 3’s finale was the most-watched episode of any series this television season.

On Wednesday, 27.2 million people watched, slightly more than the 26.8 million who watched Tuesday.

That makes it “the most-watched episode of any show of the 2006-2007 year on broadcast,” according to Media Life Magazine. Of course, American Idol will probably knock it off that post in just a few months.

Interestingly, although that was about the same as last season’s finale, among younger viewers, those 18 to 49, the show dropped. In that demographic, “it drew a 7.0 rating, down from season two’s 8.6 but still dominating the competition,” according to Media Life.
