ArchivesThe second season of ABC’s hit summer series had a successful debut on Thursday. Dancing with the Stars 2 was watched by 17.46 million viewers, up significantly from its summer debut.
Among viewers 18 to 49, Variety reports that the show had “a significant 118% gain from what the net [ABC] has averaged from 8 to 10 this season (2.2/6 in 18-49) — and up 9% from its” debut last summer. The show won at 8, beating a CSI repeat, “and was in a virtual tie with NBC’s comedies for second in 18-49 at 9,” Variety says.
While NBC’s new block of the brilliant comedies My Name is Earl and The Office at 9 p.m. were watched by more people than they were on Tuesdays, they also did not do as well as The Apprentice did late last year in the same time slot, despite Trump’s falling ratings. “NBC averaged fewer viewers … (10 million) than it had with The Apprentice (11 million),” E! Online reports.
