Yes, Stacy actually lost to Jerry. The show’s ridiculous, unnecessarily complicated scoring system gave Stacy had 86 out of 90 points from the judges over two nights, while Jerry had 80 out of 90. (Drew had 87 out of 90, according to the New York Daily News.) Yet Jerry still came in second despite that large deficit; viewer votes had equal weight, but those points were not revealed.
Most likely viewers voted for Jerry out of sympathy or because of his growth during the competition, because as the paper notes, “[t]he viewers’ votes left a wide enough margin” to overcome that six-point deficit.
