Dancing with the Stars singers prove Simon Cowell right by mangling more pop music

If you were confused by Simon Cowell’s reference to “singers murdering a song” on dancing shows during last week’s American Idol, all you have to do is watch this one performance from last night’s Dancing with the Stars.

Aiden Turner and Edyta Sliwinska’s quick-step dance was set to “Hey, Soul Sister” by Train, who should sue the show for destroying their song. I’m sure if you recorded me singing this song at the top of my lungs while taking a shower, it’d sound a lot better, and I can’t sing. A later performance of Lady GaGa’s “Paparazzi” was also excruciatingly bad, so much so that it distracted me from Kate Gosselin’s dancing was.

And the show should apologize to me and everyone else for the literal pain it causes. The real money shot comes around 1:30, when his voice cracks three times in a row because he can’t reach the notes. Ridiculous!
