Queer Eye spoof Straight Plan for the Gay Man debuts on Comedy Central.
Starting tonight, the Flab Four begin their quest to “makeover a new gay friend and give him a crash course on the secrets of straight male life.” Newsweek states the obvious: “Why any self-respecting gay man would have such a dream is unclear.”

That hasn’t stopped Comedy Central, which debuts Straight Plan for the Gay Man tonight at 10 p.m. ET. Reviews are mixed: The Advocate isn’t happy, obviously, saying the show “doesn’t parody the original Bravo series, it mocks what most gay men are insecure about—seeming ‘too gay’ or not ‘straight-acting’ enough.”

But the Hollywood Reporter disagrees, saying the series “tackles both hetero and gay stereotypes with a wink and a nod.” On tonight’s premiere episode, which is the first of only three episodes, “A gay fashion executive gets trained to be a butch meatpacker complete with flannel-covered meat-rack bachelor pad.” Fabulous.
