One of the four civilian American contractors killed and mutilated in an Iraq town last week was Combat Missions’ Scott Helvenston. In addition to being a member of Delta squad on the show, he was a Navy SEAL and stuntman/trainer for movies such as “G.I. Jane.” “It’s not only horrible when someone dies who you know and respect, but in the way it happened, it makes you sick,” producer Mark Burnett told the AP. One of Helvenston’s friends from the show, William Nissen, says “Scotty was one of those few people you only meet once in a lifetime,” Nissen said. “He stood out from the rest with his athletic ability, his personal drive, his personal motivation.” He was 38; he is survived by his wife and two children.
