This Saturday in New York City, Bunim-Murray is casting viewers 18 to 24 who want to take part in the next Challenge. The casting notice says, in part:
“Compete against your favorite Real World and Road Rules all-stars for cash and prizes. For the first time ever, we’re daring our viewers to go head-to-head with veteran cast members in the most exciting Challenge yet!”
As our friends at TVgasm point out, this casting call—like so many others—is being pitched via e.mail from publicisits. Just like TVgasm says, “Normally, we laugh at them because we’d rather not bother our readers with a bunch of useless shit when the only thing really exciting about most of these e-mails is the number of exclamation points people feel they must use to get their point across.”
But this one is clearly special. Who wouldn’t give up weeks of their life to interact with and scream at former cast members in an exotic location for the chance at major prizes and small amounts of cash? I’m just sad that I’m now years beyond the age cut-off.
