The Mole will return for both a celebrity edition and a third season.
After coming back from the dead to do rather well this summer, The Mole will be returning to ABC not once but twice. Stone-Stanley, the production company behind the show, will cast and produce both a celebrity version and a third season of the show. The celebrity version will air early next year for six weeks, while the third season will probably air next summer for nine weeks (an apparent decrease in the number of episodes; the second season had 13). “While the celeb edition has been given a firm greenlight, ABC and Stone Stanley are still in negotiations on the civilian arc, though a deal is considered likely,” Variety reports. There is more uncertainty: According to Variety, “Still undetermined is whether host Anderson Cooper will be back. Cooper is currently anchoring for CNN.”
