Survivor’s timeslot will go to a comedian dog whisperer this summer

CBS will give Survivor’s timeslot to dogs, literally, this summer, as it debuts a new series that sounds very much like Cesar Millan’s Dog Whisperer. It’ll air Wednesdays at 8 starting May 30, likely concluding about when Big Brother takes over the timeslot in early July.

Dogs in the City stars “New York City dog guru Justin Silver, a master at resolving issues between canines and their owners,” according to a press release, which says Justin “has a creative and instinctive ability to connect with his canine customers while solving dilemmas for their two-legged masters.”

CBS doesn’t mention that he’s also a comedian, one who started a charity to raise money for rescue organizations. Here’s a video from a 2011 fundraiser.

Appearing on Fox News in 2010 in a segment that is the kind of thing that gives people the idea for developing a reality show, a dog owner asks him if a collar is too tight and he says, “Chill out, lady.” Watch that segment:
