Jeff Probst’s Live for the Moment “tanked” in the ratings

If CBS judges it by the ratings alone, Jeff Probst’s Live for the Moment probably won’t be back. The pilot/special averaged 4.67 million viewers last night, which in its hour was good enough for third place, ahead of reruns of comedies on NBC and The Vampire Diaries on The CW. However, it came in last place among viewers 18 to 49, the only people advertisers care about.

Also bad news: 4.92 million people tuned in during the first half hour, but half a million of them turned it off before the second half-hour, according to data compiled by TV By the Numbers. It seems like at least some people agreed with me that it just wasn’t a great show.

The Hollywood Reporter says that all this means it “tanked in the ratings, hurting the chances of reality projects starring the terminally ill everywhere,” while HitFix says the show “won’t live for many more moments.”
