Bravo, TV Land casting for model competitions

Two cable networks are casting for model competition series, although one is specifically seeking older models, and the other will let the public decide who’s the hottest.

TV Land is searching for The Next Great Supermodel but wants “a woman 35 or over who exudes sophistication, beauty and confidence.” The winner gets “a modeling contract with Wilhelmina Models.” The resulting six-episode series, produced by Allison Grodner Productions, will air next spring.

Bravo is seeking contestants for Make me a Supermodel, but their requirements are much broader: the competition is open to “male and female models and model wanna-bes.” Those 14 models will be narrowed not by judges, but in “a first for the network, Bravo viewers will vote to determine the outcome,” the network said. The prize for the 12-episode series, which is a UK import, is $100,000.
