Adding another male modeling show to the mix, next March, Oxygen will air Finding Fabio, “a reality competition aimed at finding the next Harlequin romance novel cover model,” Variety reports. An Oxygen exec says, “We want to paint a portrait of the quirky world of male modeling competitions—chronicling these men, not mocking them—giving women a glimpse into the absurd and the serious side of what it takes to get on the cover of a Harlequin romance novel.” After undergoing training, the 12 men will compete in a pageant, and the last man standing “will receive $50,000 and grace the covers of several Harlequin titles.” The network is currently casting for the show, although it refers to it as Mr. Romance. That veiled title is probably just to avoid sending Average Joe 3’s Gil into yet another blind rage.
