Live with Flipping Out intern Trace, who needs a roommate in his Hollywood penthouse
One of the new cast members on Bravo’s Flipping Out, design intern Trace Lenhoff, is renting a room in his Hollywood penthouse apartment. I’m not sure why I find this ad so fascinating, because of course reality stars need apartments and roommates, too, but something about the intersection of (minor) celebrity and something so intimate yet banal as a living space is intriguing, kind of like when Santino invited viewers to his house for a garage sale.
In a Craigslist ad, Trace identifies himself only as “a 21 year old gay male - nonsmoker” who is “an interior design student graduating in June working part time at a design firm.” But besides including a picture in that ad, he also links to his Facebook profile, which says, “please watch me on ‘Flipping Out’ -Tuesday nights on Bravo 10/9c.”
Trace hasn’t been much of a presence this season, which has introduced several new cast members, but he was recently seen on the show being mocked by Jeff Lewis for wearing absurdly short shorts. Jeff said, “I don’t want to see the outline of his dick, and I don’t think anyone else does, either,” and then told Jenni, “We just need to send him on errands in West Hollywood today.”
The $1100 room is in a building “a block from Hollywood and Highland” and Trace writes that he has a very busy schedule and am rarely home,” adding, “I keep the apartment very clean and am really easy to get along with.” He posted a video tour of everything except the actual room:
