Boy Meets Boy

Bravo is “open to” a second season of Boy Meets Boy

Boy Meets Boy, Bravo’s 2003 gay dating series with a straight twist, could theoretically return to the network in the future.

Bravo VP Frances Berwick tells AfterElton.com, “With this particular series, I feel like we have told that story.” But she also says, “I’d certainly be open to” a second season of the show.

For that to happen, she says, “It has to feel like it’s broad enough, and multidimensional enough to work for our incredibly smart audience.” And that audience, she notes, is “a very broad audience, and it goes way beyond the gay community.” But she also acknowledges that’s a big constituency. “[We know] where our audience is. We’re very focused on it. We’re certainly a gay-friendly network. No shocker there,” she said.

AfterElton reports that series creator Doug Ross “has a new ‘twist’ and an entire Season 2 premise all lined up — one that folks at Bravo have off-handedly told him sounds ‘fun.’”

Ross says, “We’ve been talking off and on [with Bravo] about a second season for a couple years. … They loved the [original] show, and it rated extremely well for them.” While a second season may or may not get the greenlight, Bravo has released the first season on DVD.
