Wes says James may have had a boyfriend before Boy Meets Boy.
In an interview in Instinct Magazine, noticed by Let Me Get This Straight, Boy Meets Boy’s Wes Culwell says that James may have had a boyfriend for weeks before the show started taping, and said that after James picked him, he whispered, “I’m so sorry. It’s not over yet. … Please forgive me.” Babbling somewhat incoherently about the whole situation, Wes says that it wasn’t until months after the show taped “James and I [got] a chance to talk [about his boyfriend],” but then says he still doesn’t know for sure if James was dating the guy during the show: “I haven’t gotten a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ from James. If it’s true [that he had a boyfriend during the taping of the show], what was the anger about then? Why didn’t we just have fun with the show?” James apparently wants to take his boyfriend to New Zealand, which Wes says is possible because “we won two separate trips.”
