Matty charging $50 to talk to him for 15 minutes
Fame, or the illusion of it, does scary things to people. For example, Big Brother 9’s Matty is now convinced that conversations with him are worth $3.33 a minute.
Matt started by auctioning off things he wore in the house and stuff Natalie gave him, apparently just to generate revenue (there’s no mention of charity besides, you know, a guy who lost Big Brother). But after eBay apparently shut down one of those auctions, Matt decided to just go directly to the people, and ask them to send $50 via PayPal for a 15 minute (minimum! It could last longer!) phone call with him.
He wrote on his MySpace blog, “I HAVE DECIDED TO PUT UP MY PAYPAL EMAIL ACCOUNT SO YOU CAN SEND PAYMENTS THERE FOR A 15 MIN PHONE CALL WITH ME…. SO SEND A $50.00 PAYMENT BY PAYPAL … INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL AS WELL WITH A CALL BACK NUMBER FOR ME TO CALL YOU AT…. AND FOLKS DIRTY TALK WILL BE ALLOWED!!! ;0)”
Maybe the $3/minute is to help generate funds to buy him a keyboard that isn’t broken, but it seems a bit excessive for someone who came in ninth place. What’s the source of this delusion? Earlier, he wrote, “this shit blows my mind that i actually have fans!! like its surreal… i have been getting so many calls and messages i cant keep up!! so if i dont write back right away i apologize i get like 100000 messages a day so its tough to keep up……”
One hundred thousand messages a day? I think he might be a bit confused. Matty, those messages about quickly and easily increasing your penis size or helping someone get money out of an African nation? They’re not from real fans, just people who want to take advantage of your new fame and fortune.
