ArchivesEstranged father and daughter Dick and Daniele’s victory over every other Big Brother 8 houseguest on Thursday night’s show resulted in the show’s highest ratings for the season.
With 8.89 million viewers, the show “delivered the largest audience of the summer on any night,” CBS said in a press release. The episode had the season’s “best delivery on any night in both households and viewers, and it “matches BIG BROTHER 8’s best delivery in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 on any night.”
Interestingly, while CBS will air an hour-long episode tonight, CBS called Thursday’s episode the “penultimate edition,” meaning that even the network is writing off tonight’s show, which competes against the Emmys on FOX.
