ArchivesAfter moving Big Brother’s results shows from Thursdays to Wednesdays for the winter edition, and keeping that schedule for season 10, CBS has decided to move Big Brother 10’s results shows back to Thursdays.
In a press release, CBS says the “live eviction show” will return “to its familiar summer Thursday (8:00-9:00 PM) time period, effective July 31.” It’s switching places with Greatest American Dog.
This is happening even as the Wednesday ratings improved over last week’s all-time low ratings. CBS notes that last Wednesday’s live eviction, when Steven was eliminated, “improved on the previous week’s premiere by +5% in households” and “+17% in adults 18-49 … and added +460,000 viewers.”
The change will also affect the new live studio audience, if only because ticketholders for Wednesday shows now have to show up on Thursdays. However, Audiences Unlimited still lists the Wednesday show dates and doesn’t have any tickets available for those dates or any other time. Does this mean there’s no more live studio audience, or just that they haven’t yet coordinated their efforts?
Either way, tickets seem to be in demand. As part of a post detailing the in-studio experience for Steven’s eviction, Ben Mandelker writes that he and his friends, who also have tickets for the next two Wednesday shows, “received emails from the ticketing company saying that since we had already gone to the live show, we would be automatically placed on standby for all future shows we had tickets to so that others could partake in the experience.”
