Beauty and the Geek may be revived on a new network
The CW put Beauty and the Geek on hiatus last spring, and has since cancelled it, following a very low-rated fifth season that began with a premiere that was watched by only half the previous season’s premiere’s audience.
But the show may soon find new life on another network. Twentieth Century Fox Television co-chair Gary Newman called the show a “significant success” in a conversation with TV Week, and said it may be revived, although not on The CW.
“We’re in conversations about finding another home for it and producing new episodes. And I think that’s probably likely to happen soon. It’s a format that sold in many countries around the world. It’s turned into a nice, profitable business,” Newman said.
