Beauty and the Geek 5 debut loses about half the previous season debut’s audience
Beauty and the Geek 5’s debut Tuesday night drew about half of the people that have tuned in to the past two season debuts.
It was watched by just 1.9 million people, and “was down 47% from its season debut last fall and down 59% from its January debut last year,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. And that “drop-off was similar among the CW’s key adults 18-to-34 demographic.”
That’s probably due in part to the fact that the show was up against American Idol, but it may also just be fatigue and boredom with the series, or a lack of interest in the new format, which finds the geeks competing against the beauties.
