ArchivesTonight at the Cheyenne Saloon in Las Vegas, Enuff Z’Nuff will perform as part of Bands on the Run 2. They’ll be playing as “part of the pilot episode for the new series and [their performance] brings together Donnie, Chip and Vik on stage for the first time in 13 years,” Blabbermouth.net reports.
They’ll definitely be competing against another band, as Enuff Z’Nuff’s site says their fans should “come out and help EZN win.” Blabbermouth reports that, “[w]hile there has been no firm confirmation, it is believed that they are competing against BOW WOW WOW.”
That’s confirmed by Bow Wow Wow’s site, which says they are “performing at a special one-time only gig for a celebrity edition of VH1’s Bands on the Run show.” They’re performing at the Ice House Lounge in Vegas tonight. Both performances are at 8 p.m.
With these two performances, it appears that the network may have settled into a new format for the second season, using older but well-known bands and having them compete at the last minute. Another similar-sounding pilot episode was shot in December and featured Faster Pussycat; as that band explained at the time, their “pilot involves us promoting and playing a show somewhere in the U.S. announced last minute. They could send us anywhere. The winner is determined by the band that has the biggest turnout and sells the most merch.”
