ratings down for Average Joe 3, but series will return with Plain Janes.
A few million people have grown bored with the less-than-attractive stars of the Average Joe trilogy, as the series has bled about a million viewers with each subsequent edition. The third season, Average Joe: Adam Returns, “has dipped to just under 10 million” viewers on average, according to Zap2it.com. (Maybe that’s because last week, Adam sent a busload of “bikini-clad babes” away, telling producers they shouldn’t be there.) However, NBC has ordered a fourth season, although the title and format will be changed to focus on ugly women. An NBC exec said, “We asked ourselves, why should the Average Joes have all the fun?” Plain Jane will follow a hot guy selecting from a pool of not-so-hot women. The show will air next fall.
