Jerry Springer quits as host of America’s Got Talent, which is now casting
After hosting for two seasons, Jerry Springer is quitting as host of America’s Got Talent.
“Springer said he’s leaving the show because of other commitments, including his syndicated talk show and a stage role,” The AP reports. A statement released by the host said the series was “an amazing ride.”
He joined the NBC summer talent competition in 2007, replacing Regis Philbin, who hosted season one.
The show is currently casting for America’s Got Talent 4, holding an open call in Atlanta this weekend, and moving on to Washington, D.C., Chicago, Boston, New York, Miami, Austin, and Seattle. Submissions are also being accepted via videotape.
