ArchivesNBC is currently casting for the third season of America’s Got Talent, and the winner of that season could join the winners of the first two seasons on an international version of the show.
Simon Cowell is planning a one-off spin-off of the series called World’s Got Talent, which will “put 25 talent show winners from around the globe in a head-to-head battle so one can be crowned the most talented person on the planet,” and that person could receive $1 million, The Sun reports.
“We have been thinking about doing this for a long time. The planet has been crying out for a world talent competition,” Simon told the paper. The series is planned for next fall.
The show has individual editions in 15 countries, and this spin-off is similar to World Idol, which brought together winners of 11 Idol series and aired on Christmas three years ago.
