World Idol will air in December; American Juniors 2 won’t air this fall.

Winners of all the world’s Idol shows, including Kelly Clarkson, will face off as part of World Idol this December. Instead of a full-length series, the London-based show will air as a two-episode special, and “[v]iewers cannot vote for their own countrymen,” the Chicago Sun-Times reports (fourth item). FOX has not yet committed to airing the show, although Zap2it.com reports “there’s a ‘good chance,’” according to an exec. Also, E! Online reports that Kelly Clarkson’s “label RCA told E! this was the first they’ve heard of the global showdown and denied that Kelly was involved in any way.” Meanwhile, although it was originally schedule to return this fall, American Juniors won’t appear on FOX’s schedule. The show was low-rated, but TV Week reports that producers say “they don’t have time to get another edition ready by fall because they are in the middle of preparing for the next ‘American Idol.’” American Juniors 2 could air next summer.
