ArchivesThe first two-hour episode of American Inventor may have been slow, but it pulled in record audiences for ABC. Of course, it’s ABC, so the records aren’t exactly that spectacular, but the show gave ABC “its first in-season primetime ratings victory on the night (excluding sports) in more than three years,” Variety reports.
The debut averaged 14.2 million viewers, but among 18- to 49-year-olds, the news was much better: Simon Cowell’s latest series “gave ABC its strongest 18-49 delivery with series programming in the time period since November 2000.” ABC won the evening in that age group.
The next episode airs next Thursday at 9; it will only be a one-hour episode.
