Fox schedules Idol finale to run seven minutes late

The May 26 finale of American Idol has been given 127 minutes to announce the winner, but it’s unlikely that will be enough time.

Variety reports that “Fox has confirmed that the Wednesday, May 26 finale … will air for two hours and seven minutes — from 8 p.m. to 10:07 p.m.,” but notes that “‘Idol’ now regularly goes over its allotted time — and the finale will likely be no exception.”

In other words, instead of just dying, this awful season will probably spend a few more minutes roaming around like a wounded animal trying to find its way home while dragging its intestines behind it.
