ArchivesLuke Menard, one of American Idol 7’s semi-finalists, has been diagnosed with cancer, specifically Hodgkin lymphoma, and will undergo treatment soon.
“Luke had a lingering cough and was having trouble breathing deeply, so he went to the doctor to have it checked out. The suspicion was walking pneumonia. But after a chest x-ray doctors saw a mass and did more testing, which is what led to the stage II Hodgkin diagnosis,” Jane Victor, a representative of his group, told CBS News.
She said that Luke and his family have “been told that it’s treatable and manageable. Luke is currently in Los Angeles and plans to return home to Indiana soon.” Vote for the Worst initially reported (it has since edited its post) that the cancer was inoperable.
Luke was voted off during the final semi-final round.
