Paula Abdul’s tattered clothing the most interesting thing about American Idol

During 90 minutes of sheer American Idol 7 boredom—interrupted only by a kick-ass performance by Michael Johns singing Queen’s “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions”—there was really only one thing on my mind: What the hell was Paula Abdul wearing? Just look:

Seriously, it looks like Simon Cowell ripped the left side off during a commercial break, her right sleeve was torn off after being sucked into Randy Jackson’s vortex of platitudes, and she was wearing trash bag fragments on her hands that were wrapped with jewelry she won in a claw machine.

No wonder she always praises how the contestants look, insisting they always look fabulous regardless of what they’re actually wearing; she has no frame of reference at all.
