Paula Abdul may sing at the Super Bowl
American Idol judge Paula Abdul may sing live during the Super Bowl halftime show, which is being headlined by Tom Petty, on Feb. 3.
Paula “is already in rehearsals for the video to her duet with Randy Jackson, the first single from his upcoming” record, TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello reports. Now, she “is in talks to perform … during the [Fox] network’s Super Bowl XLII telecast,” and “would likely use the same choreography.”
Ausiello, who peppers his breathless report with three references to Paula Abdul’s songs, notes that “Fox Sports declined comment” but that while it “announced last month that Tom Petty would headline the halftime show, … more artists may be added in the coming weeks.”
Paula Abdul has been uncharacteristically quiet this year; just one year ago she entertained us with her crazy TV interviews. However, Radar reports that an anonymous source saw Paula at LAX late last year, and “She had an insane nervous breakdown that lasted 10 minutes. One minute she was hyperventilating and on the verge of passing out; the next she was yelling into her cell phone in this deep, rage-filled Poltergeist voice. She kept screaming three names over and over—Michael, Sidney, and Leslie. Everyone was staring at her, but she didn’t care,” the source said.
