American Idol hits season low ratings, gets beaten by FOX’s House among viewers 18-49

Another show has defeated American Idol in the ratings, and that show is the show that follows it on FOX. House was more popular than its lead-in last night.

The difference was small—“three-tenths of a rating point” among people ages 18 to 49—but this “is the first time Idol has been unseated by the show, or by any show in recent memory,” Broadcasting & Cable reports.

With 23 million viewers, Idol “again was in season-low ratings territory, and figures to come in about 15% below the same night a year ago,” Variety reports.
