ArchivesAshley Ferl, who is today the most famous crying girl in the world, did not plan to attend the live American Idol 6 show last night. Instead, she was essentially pulled from the dress rehearsal and given an aisle seat by producers, who knew she’d make great television.
Ashley and her mother got tickets for “Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader,” and her ticket included the dress rehearsal of either ‘Grader’ or ‘Idol,’” the Los Angeles Times reports. She cried at the dress rehearsal, too, and “was quickly brought to the attention of ‘Idol’ producers who summoned the clan to a ringside seat of honor at the final taping,” the paper says.
Ashley said that, despite her tears, she thought being on stage “was the coolest thing ever.” And she told the paper that she’s supporting “Sanjaya, Melinda, Gina and Jordin.”
By the way, despite the braces, pigtails, and tears combining to lead us to all refer to her as a “little girl,” she’s 13 years old.
