ArchivesFrom Tuesday to Wednesday, American Idol 6 lost less than half a million viewers — .4 million, to be exact — which is down from its average of 37.3 million on Tuesday night. Perhaps those viewers left because they, too, were disappointed with the first episode.
But that’s not bad news for the show or FOX. The second episode’s ratings were actually up 11 percent compared to the second episode last year, according to Variety, while overall the episode “peaked with a 38 share of the 18-49 audience at 9:30 and nearly 40 million viewers in total.”
Variety also notes that FOX’s series “trounced the competition on Wednesday,” including Armed & Famous (6.1 million viewers), Beauty and the Geek (3.1 million viewers), and Deal or No Deal (8.7 million).
